Fighting corruption
More relevant than any other issue is integrity. We have to believe that our leaders are working for us, not for themselves. We must elect leaders who argue our cause before Congress, not their case in federal courtrooms. We must demand honesty without ever letting cynicism spoil our hopes for a better tomorrow. That's why I am running.

Helena's Plan:
- I will support strong "Whistleblower Protection" laws to allow honest people peace of mind when spotlighting wrongdoing.
- I will agree to the same level of scrutiny and prohibitions that our Louisiana lawmakers recently voted into action.
- I will be an honest leader who will conduct myself with the utmost integrity, and I will speak openly against corruption.
- I will work to strengthen laws against those who misuse federal funds, especially those who have misused Katrina-related funding.
